Lisa Life Lesson ~"Have you prayed for your children today?"

Have you prayed for your children today?

Your answer might be an absolute "YES!" or it might be, "Not yet but I'm gonna!"  or it might even be, "Humm, well no.  Should I?"  The reality is, if you don't lift up the name of your children to the Lord on a daily basis, then who is?  Maybe a grandparent, or teacher?  But if parents don't claim the promises of God on behalf of their children through prayer then we are failing our children.  Deuteronomy reminds us, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.  And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart.  You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.  You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes."  Deuteronomy 6:5-8.

It's our privilege and honor to pray for our children and teach them the ways and truths of the Lord.  We are the only parents they have.  When we pray for our children, we are surrendering them, once again, to the Almighty God who created them and desires for a relationship with them.

If we do nothing else for our kids today, let's pray for them.

"Praying God's Will for Your Children" by Lee Roberts is a great book filled with scripture to pray over your kids.  Whatever they are going through, there is a scripture to claim on behalf of them.  God's word is real and alive.  Claim it today!
