Jesus, Take The Wheel! (Of this Mini-Van!!!)

Moms, it’s so hard to stay in our lane isn’t it? We get so sidetracked on other things, that it’s hard to keep the main thing the main thing when raising our children.  But when we LET GO AND LET GOD, we relinquish control to the One who SHOULD BE in the driver’s seat!

Our key verse for our SkyMoms Luncheons and gatherings during the 2015-16 year is – 

“FOR I AM THE LORD, YOUR GOD, WHO TAKES HOLD OF YOUR RIGHT HAND (the wheel!!!) AND SAYS TO YOU, DO NOT FEAR; I WILL HELP YOU.  ISAIAH 41:13

Don’t you love it? He will take hold…if we let Him! Remember, God is a gentleman.  He will not bulldoze His way into our lives.  We have to admit we need Him and make room for Him to take the wheel.

Red Light – STOP  

  We must ask ourselves, “Am I ready to stop looking around and comparing my children to every other child out there and accept him for who God created him to be?”

Yellow Light – Slow Down

  We must admit we are not perfect parents and will never be, and know that when we drift into other lanes, it’s okay! We can get back on course!

Green Light – Go!

Go and build a firm foundation for your family, keeping Jesus at the wheel of your life and your families lives.

OVERNIGHT SUMMER CAMP For campers entering grades 1-10 | Located in Van, TX

Sky Ranch summer camp is a week full of activities and programs specifically designed for each camper's age group. What makes Sky Ranch different from other summer camps? Our intentionality with regard to the camper/counselor relationship. The same group of counselors stay with their campers the whole week of camp, rather than handing them off from counselor to counselor for various activities. This intentional together-time allows for lasting relationships to be built between camper and counselor. Learn More!

CHAMPIONS RODEO PROGRAM Young Riders: grades 2-7 | Sky Fillies: grades 8-11 | Located in Van, TX

Champions Rodeo programs utilizes two competition-sized arenas and world class instructors. These options are a full week of summer camp, with a heavy emphasis on rodeo and horse activities.

This is the perfect program for the inexperienced rider or the young cowboy or cowgirl who is just beginning to learn the basics of rodeo competition. All campers get hands-on experience in the following areas: Fundamentals of horsemanship Roping Barrel racing Pole bending Goat tying In addition to their time in the arena, participants enjoy many of the awesome Sky Ranch activities such as zip lines, water slides, jet skis, and "The Blob". Sky Fillies is designed for girls who enjoy horseback riding and are looking for a program that will challenge them physically and spiritually. Campers engage in service projects, more intensive Bible study and are   featured stars in the weekly Sky Ranch night rodeo. The week includes: Advanced horsemanship Trick Riding Drill Team Roping Barrel racing Pole bending Goat tying Sky Fillies is the perfect option for the young lady who has moved beyond Young Riders but still wants a full week of summer camp. We finished our SkyMoms Luncheons last week and what a year we had! Lots of luncheons and almost 600 moms attending this year.  Our theme this year was The SuperMom Syndrome.  Here's a picture of moms in Rockwall preparing to take the pledge...

Lisa has been teaching women’s bible studies for the past 12 years at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas, particularly the Age of Opportunity class for moms of preteens and teens.   Prior to that, she taught new believing families for 15 years on basic Christian principles and growth.  She has been teaching moms and dads throughout the D/FW area and at her church school, Prestonwood Christian Academy, through Kingdom Parent Institute.  Lisa has a unique teaching style that couples humor with personal stories of raising her own two daughters and biblical insights.  Grounded in God’s Word, Lisa has a passion for encouraging moms in the day to day struggles of parenting preteens and teens.

Chrissie was born in Oklahoma, but has lived in Texas 29 years.  She is married to Charlie, her high school sweetheart and they will celebrate their 33rd wedding anniversary this year.  They have two daughters, Katie, age 30 and Abbie, age 27.  Katie is married to Johnny Apple and they have two boys, Jonah, 4 and Hudson almost 2.  Abbie is married to Dick Tracy and they have one girl, Charlee Kate, age 8 months.  Chrissie is the Global Director of Women's Ministry at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas.  She loves time with her family and cooking/entertaining.  Her favorite slogan is "The Party Don't Stop!".  Eternal life begins when you meet Jesus and there is a party in heaven in your honor…therefore, The Party Don't Stop!
