Dear SkyMoms,
My husband Bob and I have known each other since Kindergarten, dated since we were 15, and married for 27 years. We have two grown children. As a Christian I have been aware of the Proverbs 31 woman for as long as I can remember. Recently, however, I was at a couple’s 50 year wedding anniversary where the children stood up and honored each of their parents individually and then together as a couple. The children referred to their mother as truly reflecting the Proverbs 31 woman. I don’t know why, but somehow at that moment as they read the scriptures, God instilled a desire in me far more intense than ever before to be the full expression of what God intended me to be as a woman. I can’t explain why, but it really hit me hard. Not that I looked back and thought that I had failed at this, but it did give me a renewed desire to revisit and commit to excellence in this area of my life. Today, let us all be reminded of what God desires of us as wives, mothers, and Christian’s. Below are ten virtues of the Proverbs 31 woman with scripture references I found when researching, that I wanted to share with you today. Let’s together challenge ourselves to daily commit to being a Proverbs 31 woman and allowing God to work in our lives refining us.

Father God, thank you for reminding us of your plan for us as women and instilling in each one of us a renewed desire to be all that you created us to be. Thank you for loving us so much that you provided specifics on who you want us to be. Thank you for your provision in the areas that we are blinded…open our eyes and give us the mind of Christ. Lord continue to refine us as we seek you for guidance in every area of our lives. May we reflect you in every way and glorify you in everything we do. May her children arise and call her blessed. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
