No matter how old your children are, what stage of life they are going through….whether it be learning to walk or talk, share with others, be kind to others, the importance of diligence and hard work, the skill of a sport, or any other life lessons; as a parent it is difficult to be patient through it all. We want them to progress in life, understand and whatever the situation is to change today. I can recall the many times when our children were younger and how impatient I would be waiting for God to work in their lives. By the way, this does not change when they get older…just different life lessons.
Just as with weight training when one is trying to increase their strength and endurance, “wait training” is a discipline that is intended to strengthen us, but takes time and must be constantly practiced in order to continue. Hebrews 12:11-12 says, “No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it. Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees.” Waiting is a discipline that produces righteousness and peace or, in other words, Christian strength.
Father God, give us the faith to trust you in all situations. Help us to recognize it is the power and strength that comes from your Holy Spirit that carries us on. Help us to surrender to the strength that you provide and to recognize that your strength is made perfect in our weakness. Give us wisdom in our role as a Mother to pray for our children, seek you for guidance and be still and know that you are God. In Jesus Name, Amen.
Grateful to serve,
Linda
