Moms, are you the wise counsel your children need you to be?
Proverbs 3:13-18“Blessed is the one who finds wisdom, and the one who gets understanding, for the gain from her is better than gain from silver and her profit better than gold. She is more precious than jewels, and nothing you desire can compare with her. Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to those who lay hold of her; those who hold her fast are called blessed.”
Wisdom. It’s not what we wake up longing for is it?
We want to be thin. Beautiful. Loved.
Adored. Thin.
But wisdom probably finds herself
way down on our list of things we long for.
It’s just the way it is in 2015.
But I’m here to say that we need
it more than ever, Mom. Our children are
longing for us to counsel them with wisdom straight from the word of God. That’s where we will find wisdom, grow in it,
long for it and find our beauty, riches, honor and peace.
When we seek after Him, in His
word, we grow in wisdom and then can, in turn, bless our families. They will be blessed because of our daily
intentionality to be focused and steadfast in God’s word. Seeking Him not the world.
Our children are getting
information from friends, the internet, coaches, teachers, and many other
places. Can you count on these to be
wise counsel? You cannot. You can pray
they are. But we (the family) are still
the primary teaching environment for our children. Still.
Today. In 2015. What a blessing!
You get to put that garland of wisdom around your child’s neck every day! What
an incredible blessing and honor! Thank you Lord for choosing me to teach and
counsel my children!
So, action item #1 – GET IN THE
WORD! Sit there and soak there. Then
share what you are learning with your peeps.
They’ll be glad you did.
Love this Mamasita! Great Word...We all need that chockmah!!
