Jesus Is Omnipotent

Family Fun Icebreaker: Which superhero has the greatest power? Why?

Question: How Does Jesus Help You Relate to God?

Today’s Big Idea: Jesus Is Omnipotent

After a hopefully peaceful discussion with your family, picture the superhero that you decide has the greatest power and compare their power to God’s power. The power of God is greater than anything mankind can imagine. God-sized power created the universe and everything within it, such as planets and people. Jesus has the same power as God, the Father. Scripture shares that all things are created by Jesus (John 1:3–4) and held together by Him. Read Hebrews 1:1–4. Jesus is all-powerful. Jesus is different than an ordinary person. As an ordinary person, you can’t make anything hold together without glue! No one can. Jesus helps you understand God, the Father, by sharing that nothing is impossible with God. And now you know why — if God is all-powerful then He really can make anything happen. Jesus shares too that if you trust in Him and ask anything that agrees with God’s will, He will help you.

Talk with God: Read the scriptures aloud.
Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth.” Matthew 28:18 NLT

The Son radiates God’s own glory and expresses the very character of God, and he sustains everything by the mighty power of his command. When he had cleansed us from our sins, he sat down in the place of honor at the right hand of the majestic God in heaven. Hebrews 1:3 NLT

Walk with God: Read aloud and discuss.
There is hope in knowing the truth about the power of Jesus and knowing that nothing is impossible for Him.

Discuss with your family:
If you are in a relationship with Jesus, who has unlimited power, and you ask for His help, how can that be good for you?

Prayer suggestion: Pray for God, the Father, to encourage you to trust the real power of Jesus.
I will be praying for you!
