Lisa Life Lesson, "The Parent Police"

The Parent Police

Do you ever get that urge to parent another parent? Come on now.  You know you do.  It feels so good to get it off your chest and set that mom straight! awwwww

I'm more convinced than ever that parenting another parent is most always a bad idea.  Even though you might not agree with decisions other parents are making, you aren't the parent police.  If you are, I want to see your badge...

Here's some things to consider BEFORE parenting another parent:

1)  Check your motives - are you selfishly wanting to get back at that parent or make a point?  Are you angry and wanting to let them have it?
2)  If your motives are to "help" or encourage them, spend time with them in private, after much prayer.
3)  Many friendships are destroyed because one mom took it upon herself to "guide" another mom.  Sometimes prayer and living it out are the best options.
4)  Always get your story right before confronting another adult.  A 6 year old's version of a situation might be a little distorted.

Remember, we're all in this together.  God gave us community for a reason.  Encourage one another in love.  Don't judge.  Be a light and stay away from drama!
