Ronda from ~ The Family Table, brings us " Rosemary Maple Spiced Nuts"

Tasty treats are always fun during the holiday season. Spiced nuts are great hostess gifts plus they liven up any holiday table. Once you start making your own version, I’m pretty sure you won’t buy them at the store ever again.

Rosemary Maple Spiced Nuts

16 oz bag whole pecans
16 oz bag whole almonds
½ cup maple syrup
3 T olive oil
4  T chopped fresh rosemary
¾ tsp cayenne pepper
salt and pepper
1-2 T sugar

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place nuts in a large bowl. Mix maple syrup, olive oil, rosemary, and cayenne pepper. Pour this mix over the nuts and toss to coat nuts. Place on a parchment lined baking sheet and spread out into one layer. Do not crowd. I use two large pans. Roast for 15 minutes or until browned, stirring occasionally. Remove from oven and while hot, sprinkle generously with salt, pepper and sugar. Toss to coat and taste. Adjust seasonings. Add extra rosemary or cayenne as desired. Let cool and serve. Can be stored in airtight container for two weeks.

These make nice gifts. You can wrap in cello bags and garnish with fragrant rosemary twigs.

Happy Cooking
